Scholars is the
California 501(c)3 non-profit
educational corporation under which the following groups operate:
- HEARTS is a Christian
home schooling support group located in western Contra Costa County.
- King's
Academy is a Private School
Satellite Program (PSP) available to HEARTS members. It is a private
school which
provides record keeping services for a fee. It provides accountability
and security for the families enrolled in it.
- Class
Day
is a parent cooperative set up
to provide group classes for home school students in HEARTS.
Mission Statement
The mission of HEARTS (Home Educating and
Reflecting the
Savior) is to support and encourage families in their endeavor to raise
and educate their children in private home schooling according to the
Christian principles outlined in the Bible.
OBJECTIVES:
In accordance with the HEARTS Mission Statement:
- The name of Jesus Christ will be glorified
and lifted up by our conduct
towards one another and toward the public.
- Group members will be supported and
encouraged in their home schooling by
other individuals and by the group as a whole.
- The group shall provide support and
encouragement to members through
classes, fellowship and other activities.
- Members will be encouraged to contribute
their thoughts, talents and ideas to
further the academic and Christian spiritual growth of the students.
- Members will consider and respect each
others' individual styles and interests
in their home schooling efforts.
- The Board of Directors shall set the
course for the support group, based on
the expressed needs and concerns of the group.
